The global population is aging at an ever-faster pace, creating an agequake; a significant demographic shift in population. This shift represents opportunities and challenges for corporations and communities alike.
Recognizing the different needs and sociocultural effects of the modern aging population should encourage companies to provide products and services that will benefit the aging population and the corporate bottom line. Communities will have to pay close attention to new trends in aging at home as this will create a change in funding needs for government-sponsored programs such as Medicare.
