When forming relationships and bringing new businesses into the community, many exciting and entertaining opportunities also arise. SPGX had the privilege to attend the Indianapolis 500 on behalf of our portfolio company, Cormo USA.
Cormo USA Inc is in the process of establishing its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Rushville, Indiana. The company will utilize the massive corn production volume in the United States (as well as the significant demand for sustainable peat moss, filtration products and more) to gain a foothold in the agricultural industry and provide a better alternative for farmers and their fields.
Notorious for being “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indy 500 is a truly amazing event. Held on May 24-26, 2019, the race weekend included Carb Day, which featured rock and roll music by bands like Foreigner as well as the final practice for the 104th Indianapolis 500. It was incredible to be amongst over 300,000 spectators who are all happy and excited about racing.
The SPGX team also got the opportunity to meet interesting people from numerous different sustainable and ag-related companies, including those representing other regions of the world. We also learned about the wonderful history behind the cleanup of the event which goes to support local charities.
It was an absolute pleasure to enjoy both Carb Day and the Indianapolis 500 from the Pagoda! The SPGX team is grateful to be a part of something so spectacular and epic!
